Road Safety and Amenity
Halcrow MWT is committed to reducing the number and severity of road accidents, and safety management is an integral part of all our studies. We incorporate safety considerations at both the macro road system level and at the micro level of the traffic facility design.
The overspill of traffic from arterial roads onto residential “back streets” can often have safety implications with high traffic speeds and volumes. In addition this may affect the amenity of residents who live in the local streets.
Halcrow MWT can assist by developing a package of measures most appropriate for each area and the problems being experienced. The packages generally aim to improve safety and amenity on local streets by reducing or calming of through traffic.
Halcrow MWT’s approach to local area traffic management places great importance on the involvement of local residents and other stakeholders.
