Intersection Design and Analysis
Intersections are the critical points which control the capacity of the road network. When traffic demand is high, intersections experience queues and congestion. They are where most pedestrians need to cross the road, and are often high risk areas for cyclists.
Getting the design of intersections right is fundamental to improving the way in which a busy road network operates and MWT is expert in this field. We choose the analysis tools best suited to each project. Implications of a design are examined with regard to the system capacity, queues, specific users, and safety.
